I think this is great. The first thoughts that comes to mind is:
Can it run 100% fluently in a Windows environment - Exchange servers, Active Directory , Roaming profiles and so on.
(I can hear someone screaming Samba in the background, but it must be easily configurable / installable).

I don't think businesses mind paying for a Business Remix, as long as they know that the software they are getting can run other business applications and/or using their Excel sheets like they do now.

I do fear - how ever - that Unity / Gnome 3 might be a bit drastic / new for business users.

Keep up the good work with Ubuntu!

I have a concern about the requirement for personal information, too. However, VMware themselves also ask for it in order to get activation codes for their gratis products. For those who do require specifically VMware Player, like certain corporations, that's fine, because such corporations likely want a support contract for the OS platform anyway. Such organizations will likely have a paid-for copy of VMware Workstation to actually make their own images and distribute them, instead of taking a chance on someone else's VMware image having God-knows-what-malware possibly implanted into it. So, this move by Canonical probably makes sense for that corporate market.

For myself, the KVM virtualizer does the job very nicely, and that's what I use.

Great news.
I have been using Ubuntu on the enterprise for the last 9 months.
Be sure to include cntlm to enable internet access through Microsoft ISA server. Proxy configuration on Ubuntu does not work well with ISA.
