I really appreciated the Sunday opening for the conference. Even though many Portlanders probably thought a Sunday kick-off was unusual; I really appreciated it. It gave me the opportunity to attend on a day that was not sponsoed by my employer, and my SO (significant other a.k.a. wife) was off from her job responsibilites so she could be “on” with our kids. Where will the next Ubuntu Live Conference be held? I would like to make advanced arrangements so that I can get US passports for my family if necessary.

I just decided to say ‘goodbye’ to Apple & Microsoft with the new computer I plan to purchase, and now I see that there is a conference coming to town. I might not be into Ubuntu enough to get much out of the conference by then, but I will offer sleep and fridge to some nice computer geek in exchange for a little installation and tutorial.
